Scope of Policy
This policy applies to those who:
- Sign up as an independent contractor (mystery shopper) to provide mystery shopping and similar services via our JKS 'Shopmetrics' Portal or
- Participate in any type of survey on our behalf
Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices regarding the gathering and use of your personal data.
If you disagree with this privacy policy, you should immediately cease the use of our site as applicable.
Information we will collect from you
When you register as an independent contractor (mystery shopper) for JKS Mystery Shopping and Training Ltd we gather “personal data”.
What do we collect?
Your name, postal address, email address, phone number, DOB and age, gender, languages spoken, present occupation, experience of mystery shopping, where you heard about us, whether you are eligible to work in the UK.
During registration we will capture your IP Address.
How is it used and why we use it
Your shopper registration details are stored in our database and help us to identify your suitability for any assignment.
Your registration records will collect and maintain historical information about your mystery shopping assignments.
Your contact details, including your email address and phone number, allow us to provide you with information about shopping opportunities that are available to you.
Your IP address is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us. Specifically, for the use of security and fraud prevention. It tells us exactly when you log into your account, how long you spent and what you did.
Who has access to it?
Your registration profile is available to our employees and those such as allocators and quality checkers who have a legitimate business need. Access is given via a secure login.
Your payment bank details
You are required to enter your bank details and sort code into your registration profile in your shopper account. You do not need to give these details until you have completed your first assignment. Obviously we will then hold these details on our secure website to enable us to pay you into your bank account. It is a shoppers responsibility to keep their payment bank details up to date in your shopper account.

How is it used and and why we use it
To pay you monies owed for completing an assignment.
Who has access to it?
Your bank details are only viewed by those who have a legitimate business need. (Those who are responsible for paying the money into your bank account.).
Security and Password protection
Your registration profile is stored on secure servers by our online portal development company.
When registering we provide a default password to enable you to access our online portal. You should change this password when you first log in. Where you have been given or chosen a password that enables you to access certain parts of the site you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. You are responsible for protecting your account by not sharing your password with anyone.
JKS Mystery Shopping and all others with access to the online portal do not know what your password is. It is not disclosed to us. We have audit logs for both shoppers and staff who have legitimate access to your personal data.
Transition of information via the internet is not secure. We do not encrypt email messages and would not ask you to provide personal details such as bank details by email. We cannot guarantee the security of information sent by email and the transmission is at your own risk. We have installed intrusion detection software, anti-virus/malware protection to protect data stored by email.
When you are using social networking platforms you should not submit any personal data that you do not wish to be seen, collected or used by other users.
Retention
The amount of time we hold your Personal Data for will vary but is not kept longer than necessary.
We will keep your personal data indefinitely whilst you are actively completing assignments for us.
If at any time you wish to unsubscribe to emails, thus no longer wishing to be an independent contractor (mystery shopper) for JKS Mystery Shopping and Training Ltd, simply respond to our email to with "unsubscribe "as the subject heading.
Your shopper registration and visit history will be deleted from our database within 5 working days. However, if you have outstanding shopper payments we will action those payments when due, before deleting your registration.
Any information which may be needed by HMRC, for instance, shopper payment logs, bank details and financial transactions will need to be retained for their specified timescales.
